So, yeah, Happy New Year to everyone. There were no games scheduled yesterday and, quite frankly, my mind is still all over the place that’s not NBA-related. Nevertheless, I just didn’t feel right not making a post today. There ARE a lot of great games to watch tonight, though. The schedule includes… Miami Vs Orlando, New Orleans Vs Portland, and Utah Vs Lakers. For the other team in L.A.? Them Clips got the Phoenix Suns.
The big news right now is that Stephon Marbury is supposedly getting close to signing with Boston. There were also rumblings that the Lakers themselves were interested in Marbury. I think Boston is better-equipped to handle a problem like Marbury in the locker room (with veterans like Paul Pierce there). While Phil Jackson has dealt with nutcases in the past, the rest of the team is young… plus the L.A. media will make a story like this explode. I don’t think the Laker team can handle that.
Plus, wouldn’t this be sweet for Kevin Garnett?
Understandably, most don’t like the move. It might hurt Rajon Rondo’s confidence and Starbury is always a danger to any locker room. But I honestly think that Boston would be able to handle him the best. And if he doesn’t pan out, they can just easily cut him. Then Stephon can go to Italy to finish his career!
Anyway, enjoy the games tonight. I’m sure some people have already seen this. While I actually don’t know if they’re going to fine Andrei Kirilenko for this, I say that he just earned himself a WWE contract! I guess in Vince McMahon’s mind, AK-47 would be a heel.
