Okay, so every Friday, I'm going to put out blogs and links ("Weekly Assists") y'all should check out. Admittedly, it's hard for me to read so many of these basketball blogs in this sports blogosphere... but I'll do my best to provide the stuff that I liked. If there's something that y'all feel needs to be publicized more... then, by all means, let me know! Remember that I'm still new to all of this.
This week, I'll feature two blogs since I felt it was unfair that I publicized the first one right before I made my move to MVN. After this week, I'll feature one blog every Friday.
Oh, yeah. Mr. Audley Stephenson specifically gave me this promo to use. Here ya go...
FEATURED BLOG #1: The NBA Breakdown

Hosted by Dave Mendonca and Audley Stephenson.
The NBA Breakdown is a fun, high energy call-in basketball talk show which focuses on fantasy players, historical NBA moments and news from around the league through lively discussion.
Tune in for hoops talk, the way it should be!
Sundays 9 P.M. Eastern Time/6 P.M. Pacific

And check out their blog:

Yeah, funny stuff. Recently, they had guests such as John Starks, Spud Webb, Mayor Kevin Johnson, and Troy "Escalade" Jackson. Give them a listen and you B-Ball fans won't regret it.
And...
FEATURED BLOG #2: Talk Hoops
I love this site. Zach Harper and company do a very good job expressing their opinions about the league. I especially like their main feature, Eight-Second Violation, where he puts out eight features consisting of the happenings in the L from game mini-recaps to top quotes to "Ask A Blogger" (just to name a few). And they put out weekly podcasts so you can listen to them banter about the NBA and drunk barbers.
I think the only downfall of Mr. Harper is that he's a fan of the Minnesota Timberwolves. I don't think there's anything worse than being a T-Wolve fan right about now... oh, crap. Wait a minute. I root for the Clippers. Hey, at least, the Thunder are winning now! But anyway...
Check out Talk Hoops Dot Net. Support the habit.
All right. Go check these B-Ball links out before I send someone down to drop elbows on you. And, no, I don't need to put the Eddy Curry story as one of the featured links, even though that has "NBA Story of the Year" written all over it.
*Kobe Bryant Sells Ankle Insurance: Ethanator1088 of NESW Sports has the video of a Nike ad that has Kobe Bryant selling ankle insurance (and showing off his new shoes). WHERE WAS THIS COMMERCIAL WHEN I SPRAINED MY ANKLE LAST YEAR?
*Ricky Rubio Goes Viral: Lang Whitaker of SLAM posts the Spanish baller doing a little viral advertising through YouTube. I thought it was... interesting.
*Great Moments In Facial Hair History: Vol. VIII: As it says. Wade from Both Teams Played Hard features what is most likely the best beard in L.A. Pro Basketball history.
*Remembering Michael Jordan's Wizardry: Zach from Talk Hoops looks back fondly at the career of His Airness... and he talks about the three greatest athletic accomplishments he has ever seen (all from Jordan, of course). I was hoping he'd include that golf shot that was shown on Jordan's Come Fly With Me video.
*Memo To The NBA- Stop Looking For The Next Jordan: Michael de Leon of Project Spurs and NBA Outsider wants the NBA to move on and appreciate the league for what it is. Yes, the media is full of Ahmad Rashads.
*The World Needs Some Good Dunk Gimmicks: Henry from TrueHoop doesn't think there's anything wrong with gimmicks in the dunk contest. And he thinks that the "sticker dunk" by Dwight Howard was awesome (which I concur). Hey! What about a blindfold?! That's creative!
*Let's Put Some D-League In This Dunk Contest: Staying with the dunk contest for a bit, Hardwood Paroxysm suggests that the D-League Dunk Contest champion should be put in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Of course, it's an excuse for us to make fun of D-Leaguers.
*32 Hours of James Posey: This is actually a series of entries made by Ticktock6 of Hornets Hype during James Posey's birthday to top NBA TV's ridiculous 24 Hours of LeBron. I wonder if he shoulder-tackled anyone on the court during his B-Day.
*The Significance of Grant Hill To The Suns: Did you guys see his ridiculous moves to the basket last night against Denver? Ben from Ben's Suns Blog will tell you more about what G. Hill means to his favorite team. While he's at it, I wish he also mentioned how much Jerrod Mustaf meant as well.
*Retro Create-A-Caption: Michael Jordan In A Go-Kart: Doesn't the title say it all? J.E. Skeets of Ball Don't Lie provides the blackmail photo.
And for Dave. I just have to do this for you, man.
*Where Are They Now? John Crotty: YES!!! Dave's favorite point guard is actually featured on both the official Utah Jazz page AND the official Miami Heat page. You're welcome. Just buy me lunch tomorrow, man.
I will most likely be live-tweeting some games tonight (ESPECIALLY the Magic/Lakers game) since I'd rather be watching basketball games while working out with my hot wings and fries than getting turned down by wannabee cougars at a bar tonight. So if you have a Twitter account, follow me at TheNoLookPass. Other NBA bloggers are likely going to be there, too.
That's it for Friday, guys! Have a safe weekend.
