I'm a big fan of David Robinson. I was a fan then and I'm still a fan now.
So I was happy when he got named to the Basketball Hall of Fame. I mean, did you see his career stats? It's incredible, to say the least. 4.5 blocks per game in 1991-1992? And 2.3 steals per that same season? Geez.
I was asked to write a "WHAT IF" article by Project Spurs about Robinson. What if he played for the Lakers? I wrote in detail that he could've won as many as seven titles wearing the purple and gold. Check it out over here. For a different view, check out the column made by this John Karalis guy (ha ha, much love, John) from Red's Army: What if David Robinson signed with the Celtics?
Tune in to Project Spurs for their David Robinson Tribute Week. And go to NBA.Com for a career timeline and more articles. The man deserves all the praise that he's getting and, while he's not much for the spotlight, I'm glad that people are recognizing him for not only being a great basketball player but also for being an outstanding person.
We salute you, David Robinson. We're glad you went out on top and into the Hall of Fame.
