This post was actually made into a fanshot over at the Warriors blog, Golden State of Mind. I read some of the comments over there and I am loving the optimism many of the fans over there have for the upcoming season.

It's not wrong to be a fan of a losing team and I don't agree with the idea that any season where the fans aren't rewarded with a title from the team should be considered a failure. But yes, sometimes it does take a playoff run for certain fans to realize what's there, and the ones that can stay through the lean years are definitely worthy of respect. Why so many fans feel they are "owed" chamionships is an idea that escapes me. Is it wrong to enjoy the simple pleasure of a win and an entertaining night of competition?

"when a clippers fan is telling you to look on the bright side of things because by next year you could be as good as them."

I don't think he EVER said that in this entry.

No offense, but as a dubs fan you know it's bad when a clippers fan is telling you to look on the bright side of things because by next year you could be as good as them.

@Raps fan: thanks for the kind words! Keep up the great work at Raptors Republic!

@Rey: thanks for the backup. As you said, a lot of the article was meant to shine on Steph Curry, and also as a message out to a lot of the Warriors fans who I constantly hear on sports talk radio up here, who are always asking when they think the next time the W's will make the playoffs will be. Obviously, there are some long tenured Warrior fans out there, and being a Clipper fan, I can relate to how it feels to ride the pangs of a losing franchise.

@"Me:" Anthony Randolph? As in the near 7' tall combo forward that should have got more minutes as a rookie, got invited to Olympic team camp this summer in Vegas, and the one that KNBR AM680's Bob Fitzgerald and Rod Brooks say is a great PF but would be an even more amazing SF once his game improved? Or were you talking about another Anthony Randolph? Regardless, I thank you for the tactful, composed, and well-thought out response.

Yeah, we've heard OF Anthony Randolph. Proofread before calling anyone names.

And this article was meant to promote Stephen Curry. Sure, there are the other Warriors to watch like Anthony Randolph (who is the worst kept secret in the NBA as everyone is raving about his potential) but don't forget that Monta Ellis can still get better and Anthony Morrow and Kelenna Azubuike are some hidden gems in the Warriors roster. But we are definitely very curious of Stephen Curry.

"I’ll put it this way: have you ever went to a party with a buddy and that buddy somehow found the hottest girl at the party completely drunk out of her mind and managed to reach third base for the first time in the better part of a half decade, only to find him trying to go to every party he can get to under the pretense that the same thing will happen again? Please don’t be his sports-fan equivalent."
