We Like Obscure NBA Players: Victor Alexander

It's become apparent that The No-Look Pass really loves the 1993-1994 season with all of the other obscure NBA players that we have featured that played during this era.  Victor Alexander is no exception.  This 6-9 265 lb. forward/center might not have had the physique of a typical NBA player but it made him a force to be reckoned with on the court with his low post scoring and great shooting touch.  This week, The No-Look Pass takes a look back at Victor Alexander's career.

Alexander attended Iowa State where he played a phenomenal 4 seasons and was named to the first-team All-Big 8 selection in 1989 and 1991.  There was also no doubt about his scoring ability as he would go on to 1892 career points which still holds up as the 4th highest total in school history.

The Golden State Warriors; being the believers that they are, selected Alexander with the 17th pick in the 1991 NBA draft.  He would go on to average 7.4 and 4.2 rebounds in 80 games during his rookie season.

Alexander would become more productive as his time with the Warriors went on, scoring 11.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in his second season on a team that appeared to be declining based on their disappointing 34-48 record.

Alexander would endure two more seasons with the franchise filled with ups and downs and saw consistent playing time until he was dealt for B.J. Armstrong.  He would go on to fail a physical with the Cavaliers, resulting in a rescinded trade and was ultimately waived by the New York Knicks.  At that point, Alexander would take his game overseas where he would play for Greece, Italy and Spain.

He made his return to the NBA for 15 regular season games and 2 playoff games during the 2001-2002 season with the Detroit Pistons.  His stint was brief but it was a way for him to prove that he could still compete with the best before taking his game back overseas to Russia.  He would gain Euroleague first-team honors in 2003 before retiring in 2004.

Now at age 40, Alexander can look back at his career see how much he had accomplished and inspire the next generation of big men who make it to the NBA.  The No-Look Pass salutes Victor Alexander.
