Oh, hey! I was able to break free for a bit and update!

Anyway, Mark Macon was known as Mr. Basketball from the great state of MIIIII-chigan (you like that Mason impression?) in 1987. He went on to have an impressive NCAA career from Temple University. So impressive, in fact, that he was picked #8 overall in the 1991 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets.

While he did score 10.6 points per game in his rookie year in the 1991-92 season under Nuggets coach Paul Westhead, who employed a run-and-gun style, he only shot 37.5 percent from the field. He wouldn't score that much in a season again as his minutes started to decrease.

Early in the 1993-94 season, he was traded to Detroit, where he would play the rest of his NBA career. He didn't get much burn there. He didn't play in the NBA for two whole seasons (1996-98) and played in various professional leagues (he also apparently played for a CBA team called the Florida Beachdogs... wow). He played one last season with the Pistons during the lockout-shortened campaign in 1999 before finishing his professional playing career overseas.

Macon went on to a coaching career. He was an assistant at his alma mater, Temple, for a few years. He became the head man of Binghamton University in 2009. He was on an interim basis until 2011. However, Binghamton went 2-29 in the 2011-12 season, which resulted in his termination.

Hopefully, Macon finds his way back in the coaching ranks. TNLP would like to give Mark Macon a shoutout.
